Friday Night Lights
~~~
We've been living in our new house now for over a year, and I still flip the wrong light switches every other day. Nationals Park is only about a month old. Somebody doused the right field bank of floodlights when they were trying to flip on the bathroom fan.
By the time things went dark, John Lannan was already gone, having been wobbly through three innings. 14 year old Mike O'Connor has looked better so far.
The 25 minute delay was probably a welcome break for everyone in the stadium, except maybe the Pittsburghers. The 7-1 lead was eating away at the quality of play. As the lights were rebooted, so were the boys.
In the 4th, Nieves swatted ANOTHER beautiful double down the third base line. He ran in 3 and extended his hitting streak to 8 games. As I tap away, we're in the 5th and another Pirate homer has run in, but the boys seem to be back. Just waiting to see if they can flip the switch.
"This is the craziest party that could ever be. Don't turn on the lights, 'cause I don't wanna see."
