Liveblogging Game 3 Nats-Cards June 6th

~~~
The "/night" part of the day/night double header begins at 7:10.
First pitch gets Schumaker on under a Guzman fielding error. I can
still hear the echoes of the 2006 Guzman haters yelling YOU SUCK
GOOZMAN.
Second pitch, second hit. Ugh. 2 on.
Milledge caught a fly ball to center and threw to 3rd when the runners
tagged. No chance of taking out anybody at 3rd. He should have thrown
to 2nd and stopped Miles from tagging from 1st. Settle, boys.
Redding chills out striking out Ludwick. Troy Glaus should have been rung upon
a 2-2 pitch but it was called ball 3. Disaster averted though when he
grounds out to 3rd base rookie Cory Casto.
The scorecard just says "no runs", reflecting none of this.
Bottom of the 1st. WOW.
Gooz bangs his way on. Dukes triples to center. Milledge
pops out. Boone sac flies Dukes in. Casto singles. Lopez walks moving
Casto to 2nd.
The sun just dipped behind the 3rd base stands and the
breeze is like foreplay. Parisi throws wild against Langerhans and the
runners advance then he WALKS Ryan.
Wil Nieves is the 8th batter of the inning with three ducks on the pond. This inning has seen more hits and men on base than many recent entire games. 3-2 on Wild Nieves. He pops out and strands three, but its ooookay.
2-Zippy, DC.
7:30 - that tool Clint is doing Nats Trivia. What a waste of a $10000000.00 HD scoreboard.
Bottom 2nd- Dukes should have flied out to centerfield but Schumaker DROPS IT
and Elijah gets a sweet two base error. Next Aaron Boone walks. That
young rookie maniac Casto then doubles them in. This is amazing.
2 out, 1 on 2nd and Lopez is up. IT's 5 to nothing and we have the 5. Lopez flies to
center and there's no chance Schumakrer's going to let this one drop.
7:53 and I gots to p.
Overheard from stall in the gents:
"daddy ... This is why we should have gone to the girls bathroom. 'Cause there's a CHANGING ... TABLE in there."
100% that kid will be incident reporting this to mom.
Bottom of the 3rd. GOOZ AGAIN runs one in with a double then Dukes RBI's Gooz in.
7-0 Nats in three easy innings.
Top 4th - stl bats wake up. Glaus homers. Two other hits net two other runs. Is this a problem? Are we gonna have a problem here people?
7-3 Nationals.
8-3 dc bottom of the 4th
Top 6th Redding is making bad pitches. 2 get on. Mark Worrell suh- MACKS a tater to the left field seats. Like 7 rows in. That's a 3-run homer. Worrell is the Cards' pitcher. This is his first major league at-bat.
It's now 8-6 DC. 5 of the Cardinals' 6 runs were batted in by their two pitchers.
Saul Rivera in relief throws 3 pitches to end the top of the 6th inning.
Elijah D catches all three outs in the top of the 8th. So far, he's gotten on base 4for 5 times. This may be the night Dukes got his groove back.
Casto in the 8th. So far he's singled doubled and walked. Now he singles again. Job up this cat. Oh, and hey Flopez, be a dear and run him in, won't you?
No. He will not. Lopez grounds to a stinkin' double play to kill the buzz.
Top 9th. Two on and La Rusa puts in .. Pujols. I just pooped a little bit. The 40% of the crowd that is STL fans is screaming like the Beatles just touched Mariah Carey. I don't know. You come up with the synonym.
RAUSCH STRIKES OUT PUJOLS. Eat that, traitorous crowd members.
Oh but wait. Then two go home. We are in a tie game.
8-8 ballgame into the bottom of the 9th. 3 up 3 down. Including the Meathook, Dmitri Young. We are now entering
THE FREE BASEBALL ZONE.
More as it happunz.
